Flood Alert

Western Rother

Flooding is possible – be prepared

Storm Dennis is forecast to bring widespread, persistent and heavy rainfall Saturday and Sunday 16/2/2020. It is difficult to accurately predict so far ahead, but if the heaviest rain occurs, flooding is possible on Sunday (16/02/2020) from 04:00 in Liss, 08:00 in Iping and 15:00 at Lodsbridge and Fittleworth. Flood impacts will include fields, gardens and roads. Property flooding is possible, particularly between Lodsbridge and Fittleworth. Locations could include: Station Road, Liss; Mill Lane, Sheet; Iping, Stedham, Lodsbridge, Coultershaw Bridge and Fittleworth. Rain will ease Sunday afternoon. With only isolated showers through to midweek, river levels should begin to fall by Monday evening 17/2/2020, earlier between Liss and Iping. Please install flood protection products now, if you have them, and plan to avoid driving through roads prone to flooding. We continue to monitor the levels and forecast. We will update this message by 20:00 16/2/2020.
