Fittleworth Church of England Village School is situated in the heart of the village within its rural downland setting.  The school building is fairly modern, built some 26 years ago, replacing the original Victorian schoolhouse which has since been converted to housing. The school expanded in 2010 to become a through-primary and now comprises 5 classrooms with 130 children on roll (Sept 2016). The school is part of Petworth Area Schools (PAS) and The Rother Valley School network (RVS). There is a playgroup on site which secures seamless transition for our youngest children into the main school http://www.fittleworthplaygroup.co.uk/. The school also works closely with other local pre-school providers.

The school enjoys strong links with the local community and benefits from the many volunteers who come and help in classrooms, listen to children read and help with other activities such as cooking and Forest School.

We invite the ‘Over 60’s Club’ to our Christmas performances and we often hold events for both the school and the village to enjoy. These have included a ‘Street Party’, a Macmillan Coffee morning (now an annual event) and a Bingo Night during the past year. The school also hosts Summer and Christmas Fetes and the Village Firework Display which attracts villagers and families from the wider rural area.

Fittleworth CE Village School especially values its strong links with St. Mary’s Church and the children have chosen five core Christian values to help them shape their lives and guide them through each day. They are; Love, Empathy, Forgiveness, Service and Respect.
