We’re pleased to report that the Speed Indicator Device, (SID), is now operational in the village. This morning it was installed at it’s first location, on The Fleet. There are 5 further sites on the B2138 from Tripp Hill, through to Church Lane. It will stay at each location for 2-4 weeks before being moved, to keep motorists from becoming too familiar with a single location. The SID was funded by a New Homes Bonus Grant linked to the Hawkins Field development and the installation of new posts and sockets was part funded by the SDNP. The SID is just one of our traffic calming projects; Village Gates, Swan Green Enhancement and a TRO to reduce the speed limit on The Fleet are all being explored.
