CANCELLED – Velo South – this cycling event will involve 15,000 cyclists passing through Fittleworth! Roads will be CLOSED

Cancelled due to predicted bad weather conditions – Velo South is a 100mile long road based cycling event which is planned for 23rd September. On this day, 15,000 cyclists will ride along a route which starts and finishes at Goodwood and which will come through Fittleworth along the A283.
Fittleworth is on the early part of the route, which means the A283 (the road from Petworth to Pulborough taking in Haslingbourne Lane, Upper St. and The Fleet) will be closed between 06.15 and 11.45am. It will not be possible to drive along the route during this window, or across – since there are no vehicular crossing points locally.
