Lockdown eased – but still aim for 2m apart social distancing

4 July 2020 @ 12:01 am

In England:

As long as there hasn’t been a change in guidance from the government, on 4th July restaurants, pubs and cafes in England are allowed to open  as long as they can follow safety guidelines.

Customers will have to give contact details when they enter a pub or restaurant. There is a legal duty for businesses to keep employees safe.

Museums, galleries and cinemas can open and hairdressers can work again.

Holiday accommodation – hotels, B&Bs, cottages, campsites and caravan parks can also re-open (shared facilities must be cleaned properly).

People in England are free to stay away from home overnight for the first time since March.

Two households of any size can meet indoors or outdoors and can stay overnight. The government does not recommend meetings of multiple households indoors, unless they were part of the same support bubble.
